Only an SDS power tool will do when you need to chisel into hard surfaces. This high-powered tool uses a hammering action to tackle concrete, brickwork, masonry, tiles, stone, and a range of other tough materials. Various bits can be fitted into the chuck, including flat and pointed ends. An SDS chisel can be used for many jobs, from channelling to demolition.
What is SDS?
SDS stands for Slotted Drive System, referring to the internal mechanism through which the SDS tool generates its extra power and torque. SDS chisels can switch between drilling modes as required for different materials and tasks, including hammer-action only, rotary only or rotary with hammer. They are often also known as masonry chisels and hammer drills.
SDS chisel bits are designed to be durable and long-lasting. Some models have additional features like toughened steel, carbide trips and shatter-resistant flutes. SDS chisel bits come in a wide range of shapes and sizes and have many uses.
You’ll find a selection of quality SDS chisel bits at Data Powertools from brands such as Heller, Makita, DeWalt, Armeg and Milwaukee. They can be bought individually or as a chisel set.
